@elight @ActuallyAuDHD Well I appreciate you for that ! it’s nice to get a bit of knowledge from someone else’s rabbit hole diving without having to descend into it myself! 🕳️ 🐇 😄

@a @ActuallyAuDHD I love sharing things when they work for me. Life ergonomics is a special interest.I just suck at this overall. I have local maximums though. 😅

@elight @ActuallyAuDHD Thank you! I really appreciate you taking the time to respond so thoroughly. 😊👍

@a @ActuallyAuDHD These get really expensive fast. For instance, I *LOVE* Peak Design's fastener system (https://www.peakdesign.com/products/anchor-links). I want them everywhere! But the female part of the adapter can't be bought separately from the male. I rarely seem to have enough of them. I just ordered another set.For my "everyday carry", for an overnight/nerding away from home, I have a v1 (https://a.co/d/5uh55Kl) that I bought maybe 5 years ago. Plus I then have their Tech Pouch and Wash Pouch because they fit perfectly in either side of the bag. This leaves me 10-12L in the top of the bag. But I can go on and on about the bag, there are so many features. So this means I'm in for easily $500 with PD just in terms of bags and accessories! These are tools for me. Therefore, I see them as investments. And I have to enjoy them to ensure that I engage with them. That also means the utility needs to be there.I now feel like Patrick Bateman talking about Huey Lewis and the News and their album "Hip to be Square".Hey Paul! 🪓🫟

@a @ActuallyAuDHD I tend to favor Peak Design because I just love their stuff and they have lifetime warranties.I'm using the 2mL sling now. As I write, it's just a little too small for all the things I want in it. Obvious trade-off in weight and bulk.I'm going to compare the 2 and 4 and return one. They also have a 7 but, from reviews I've watched, that one is just too bulky.(FWIW, I normally despise video as a teaching/informative medium. Some of that is my showing but some is that I prefer random access over serial/linear/time-based access.)That said, hell, maybe I need to record a review of both for exactly this use case.

@elight @ActuallyAuDHD Thanks for posting this. Do you have any packs to recommend? I feel like I could do with something like that.

@ActuallyAuDHD I realize that the way I prepare my packs is definitely my autism showing. I like everything within to have a purpose and a place. The ADHD side shows when I return items to the bag by simply stuffing them into the bag arbitrarily.. I sure wish I wouldn't do that...

A tool I'm trying out is wearing a 2L sling pack literally everywhere when I am awake. I currently use it as a slightly larger pocket that is more accessible and securable. I'm trying a 4L next week.I've had just too many #AuDHD moments where I'm some place and, suddenly, I find I need a snack/multitool/phone/AirPods/reading glasses.Everything goes back into the bag when I'm done with it.Also, I'm putting more ephemeral small items into as well—so a little like a tiny shopping cart. This all comes several years after getting the perfect backpack for myself and kitting it out as the perfect nerd go-bag/overnight travel bag. This sling will eventually become a more portable extension of that with an eye toward continuous use. With the 4L, I expect I'll add my e-reader/space for a paperback, more sundries like a tiny pack of frequent pills (a few Adderall and Vyvanse, pain relievers, glasses wipes, a couple cables and a plug in charger, space for a small to somewhat heavy battery, and then we'll see how it's doing. I'm thinking I'll need a smaller battery just so I can keep the kit assembled reliably; my larger battery is fine for my backpack but adds bulk.@ActuallyAuDHD
